Shillong, Dec 31, 2025: The Meghalaya government has launched a new Meghalaya Skill Development program aimed at empowering youth, enhancing employability, and promoting entrepreneurship across the state. The initiative reflects the state’s commitment to skill enhancement and economic growth.
The Meghalaya Skill Development program targets students, unemployed youth, and aspiring entrepreneurs, offering training in digital technologies, vocational skills, and industry-specific programs. Officials from the Department of Skill Development stated that the program includes hands-on workshops, online courses, and certification opportunities to make participants industry-ready.
Financial support, including stipends and course fees, will be provided to eligible candidates to encourage participation. Training centers are being set up across the districts, with special emphasis on rural and remote areas, ensuring equitable access for all sections of society.
