SHILLONG, Jan 12, 2026: Northeast students visit ISRO as part of an educational initiative designed to introduce young learners to space science and research. The programme involved around 800 students from the Northeastern states, giving them a rare opportunity to observe India’s space research environment up close.
The ISRO educational visit included guided tours of research facilities where students learned about satellite development, launch systems, and the application of space technology in daily life. Scientists explained how space missions contribute to communication services, weather forecasting, navigation, and disaster management.
Teachers accompanying the students said the experience helped connect textbook learning with real scientific work. Many students actively participated in discussions and showed interest in understanding how rockets are launched and how satellites function in orbit.
