Shillong,Jan 17, 2026: The Meghalaya government has decided to conduct a comprehensive review of all cases involving tainted teachers, aiming to strengthen accountability and improve trust in the state’s education system. Officials said the move is intended to ensure that past and ongoing cases have been handled fairly and in line with established rules.
According to officials, the review will include cases related to alleged irregular appointments, misconduct, and violations of service norms. The government plans to examine records from different districts to identify gaps, procedural lapses, or delays that may have affected disciplinary actions.
The education department stated that the review process will focus on transparency and due process, ensuring that decisions are based on verified records and legal provisions. Authorities clarified that the exercise is not intended to target individuals unfairly but to bring clarity and consistency in handling cases linked to tainted teachers.
