Shillong, Feb 1: Best Election District Award for 2026 has been conferred on East Khasi Hills (EKH) in recognition of its electoral management and voter participation. The district achieved high voter turnout and successfully implemented polling arrangements across all constituencies.
Officials reported that coordination between election staff, security personnel, and local authorities contributed to the smooth conduct of polling. Multiple voter facilitation measures, including awareness drives and real-time monitoring systems, were put in place ahead of the election.
