Shillong, Dec 19, 2025: A Meghalaya consumer rights awareness programme was organised in Shillong to educate residents about their legal rights as consumers and the importance of informed purchasing decisions. The Meghalaya consumer rights awareness initiative aimed to strengthen public understanding of consumer protection laws and grievance redressal mechanisms available in the state.
The awareness event was conducted at Mawklot, East Khasi Hills, with participation from students, local residents, shopkeepers, and representatives of community organisations. Officials explained how consumers in Meghalaya can protect themselves against unfair trade practices, misleading advertisements, and poor-quality goods or services.
