Tura,Jan 17, 2026: The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) of West Garo Hills has declared the area around PA Sangma Stadium unsafe, highlighting a major stadium safety concern for residents and visitors. Recent inspections revealed structural issues requiring immediate attention and preventive action to ensure public safety.

Officials reported that sections of the stadium’s retaining wall have become unstable due to weather exposure and age, prompting the declaration. The affected zone has been marked as risky, and public access has been restricted until necessary repairs are completed.
